The carbon spoiler lip with its optimised surface and air flow angle ensures that downforce on the rear axle is significantly increased. The two chrome-plated twin exhausts allude at a special AMG sport exhaust system which increase engine output at the upper engine speed range by reducing exhaust gas backpressure. This is complemented by engineering which has been tried and tested in motor racing: an additional transmission oil cooler, a high-performance steering oil radiator as well as an active differential oil cooler with an electric pump and external radiator. That the CLK 63 AMG Black Series is at home at the pinnacle of motor racing is immediately apparent from its sound. And of course when one considers the following data: 373 kW (507 hp) at 6,800 1/min, 6,208 cm3 engine displacement, acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds and from 0 to 200 km/h in 13.8 seconds.

As is to be expected from an uncompromisingly sporty car, gear changes in the CLK 63 AMG Black Series are performed using aluminium paddles located behind the AMG Performance steering wheel. You will have a grip on the road at all times. Newly developed, wider axles in conjunction with a new steering box and amply proportioned sports wheels ensure a high level of steering precision, improved cornering characteristics on entry and palpable driving feedback constantly relayed back to the driver. These features in conjunction with the rear-axle limited slip differential and the specially tuned ESP® allow for controlled cornering right on the limit.
