The interior of the R-Class not only offers generous seating proportions, it also leaves plenty of flexibility in terms of design. The SUV Tourer comes as standard with five seats, but you can have two, three, four, six or seven seats in it.

If there are four or five of you travelling, the maximum luggage capacity in the 5-seater is 939 litres (888 litres in the 4+2 and 5+2-seaters and 1118 litres in the long-wheelbase version of the 5-seater). As a two-seater, the R-Class 5-seater offers a load capacity of up to 2001 litres (up to 2436 litres in the long-wheelbase version) up to the roof lining. Reconfiguring the interior in this way is quick and easy: creating a level load area is simply a matter of folding forward the cushions and backrests of the second and third rows. Even with seven people on board, the luggage compartment – with a volume of up to 324 litres (long-wheelbase version: 414 litres) – still offers sufficient space for light luggage.

Getting into the vehicle becomes especially easy with the EASY-ENTRY feature which is available in conjunction with the 4+2 and 5+2-seaters. The third seat row which is identical in these two versions replaces the stowage compartment in the boot floor.
