With the transmissions of the SLK, gearshifting is always first-class – a prerequisite for pure sporty enjoyment: the SLK 200 KOMPRESSOR, SLK 280 and SLK 350 feature the 6-speed manual transmission as standard, with a 5-speed automatic transmission optional for the SLK 200 KOMPRESSOR. The SLK 280 and SLK 350 have something rather special to offer as an option: an automatic transmission with seven forward gears – 7G-TRONIC automatic transmission (standard in the SLK 55 AMG). This intelligent transmission optimises fuel consumption and acceleration – with particularly smooth gearshifts. The 7G-TRONIC Sport with steering wheel gearshift paddles[1], which provide you with faster gearshifts in Manual mode, is available for your SLK.
