BlueEFFICIENCY. Fast forward to viable efficiency.

The Sprinter with BlueEFFICIENCY package [1] [2] [3] [4].

Our goal is to ensure your mobility in as economical and sustainable a manner as possible for the future. We group together all the innovations that help make this objective possible under the term BlueEFFICIENCY: intelligently coordinated measures aimed at a tangible reduction of fuel consumption and CO 2 emissions.

And the Sprinter with BlueEFFICIENCY [1] [2] [3] [4] package proves just how well this works. In particular in urban distribution transport, the interaction of the ECO start-stop function [5], a frugal diesel engine and further components ensures a significant reduction in fuel consumption and emissions. That doesn't just reduce costs, it also has a positive effect on the environment and your company's performance.

    Legendary low fuel consumption

One of the most sustainable vehicles in its class, the new Sprinter shines with outstandingly low emission and fuel consumption figures thanks to systematically evolved engines [6] and innovative BlueEFFICIENCY technology.

The Sprinter features the following as standard: an electrically controlled fuel pump, alternator management, a Fuel Economy rear axle and rolling-resistance-optimised tyres. The Sprinter is the very first van to comply with the demanding Euro VI emissions standard[7] thanks to its efficient engines.

The BlueEFFICIENCY package [1] [2] [3] [4] is available for all the versions powered by a CDI diesel engine. It comprises the following elements:

    • OM 651 diesel engine (EuroVI or Euro5b+ Gr. III) or OM 642 diesel engine (EuroVI)
    • ECO start-stop function [5]
    • ECO power steering pump
    • On-demand control of fuel pump
    • Tyres with reduced rolling resistance [8]
    • Fuel Economy alternator
