"Safetyplus Driver" from DEKRA

The official safety certificate for van drivers

In future, the "Safetyplus Driver" certificate will be awarded to drivers who have attended special driving safety training courses. These courses focus on load restraint and fuel-efficient driving. It is also planned to regularly organise practical exercises and advanced training courses covering the topics of road traffic regulations, health as well as road and environmental safety. To retain their "Safetyplus Driver" certificate, drivers must undergo retraining at regular intervals.

Three types of training courses will be staged:

  • Driving safety training including the basics of load restraint (basic course/practical training)
  • Regulations governing traffic, social and goods transport law; health & road and environmental safety; providing services and logistics
  • Driving safety training including the basics of optimising fuel consumption (practical training)
